Tower Club Dallas Wedding Reception & Lighting

This was our 2nd time to provide services at the Tower Club in downtown Dallas. It is a very nice venue that we really enjoy working at and the views are amazing!

I’ll wait to do a full blog post talking about Michael & Ashley’s wedding once we have better pictures from one of our favorite photographers to work with, Jessica of Rae Portraits. In the meantime, here are a couple pictures of the room, the cake and a dancing shot.

**UPDATE: Full blog post about this wedding located here: Fun Tower Club Wedding Dallas

Discovery Decor Lighting at the Dallas Free Bridal Show

Discovery DJs, the parent company for Discovery Decor Lighting, has been in business for over 12 years. So it was pretty amazing that it took 12 years for us to have a booth at a bridal show. Fortunately, the DJ business has kept me as busy as I could handle since I am only able to DJ one wedding a night. However, I’ve been looking to grow the lighting division of my company, so I thought doing a bridal show would be a good way to do that. We are able to send out multiple systems a night and are hoping 2012 is the year we really grow our lighting division.

The bridal show, which took place at the Starlight Room in Dallas, gave an opportunity to display the newest addition to the lighting division–lighted cocktail tables. Overall the reaction was great and I received quite a few compliments on the look of the tables.

Throughout the show, I talked to a lot of brides-to-be who were planning their Dallas wedding. The comment I heard quite often was how much they like the effect lighting can have on a venue and they were looking forward to having decor lighting at their Dallas wedding reception.

I am glad we got our first bridal show under our belt and am looking forward to showing our LED uplights at other DFW bridal shows in the coming year!

Dallas Uplighting Review Article by Jim Weisz of Discovery DJ & Lighting

As a writer for Mobile Beat DJ magazine for the last 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of reviewing a lot of DJ & lighting products over the years. Last year I was given the task of reviewing new LED uplights from Chauvet lighting. I had been offering uplighting in Dallas for about a year at the time, so I was excited to get my hands on the latest LED uplighting technology from Chauvet.

The light I was given to review was the Chauvet SlimPar Pro Tri LED light. The SlimPar Pro features 18 tri color lights, which means the light is mixed before the bulb. What is the significance of where the light is mixed? When the light is mixed before the bulb, it virtually eliminates the effects of multi-colored shadows that usually effects LED uplights. They are also known to be excellent for color mixing.

I’m going to include the article below, but the spoiler is I loved the lights so much that I bought an entire set for my Dallas Wedding Uplighting company. After buying my original set, I still loved them so much I bought more! More than a year later, they are still among the top LED uplighting fixtures available on the market today…and we have them! Here’s another article on our blog about how to choose DFW decor lighting and shows where our lights rank.

Here’s the article as it appeared in the September 2011 issue of Mobile Beat magazine.
