Dallas Museum of Art Wedding DJ by Discovery DJs

I’ve provided DJ services for quite a few Dallas weddings, so I’ve seen my fair share of speeches & toasts. However, Stephen’s brother Mark gave one of the best toasts I have ever heard in the 12+ years I have been DJing weddings. It was a great blend of funny and serious, and you could tell he was speaking from the heart. I’m sure Stephen, Diana and their guests will remember that for quite a long time.

Stephen & Diana pretty much gave me free reign for what to play–the only thing they requested was some Texas Country, which was played while the guests were eating cake & socializing. Once dinner was done and everyone had a chance to socialize for a bit, I picked it up with some newer music followed by a set of 90’s music. Stephen & Diana’s crowd really got into some great 90’s hits I played, such as It’s Tricky by Run DMC and Jump On It by Sir Mix A Lot.

Being Aggies, Stephen & Diana had asked me to play the Aggie War Hymn near the end of the night. All the Aggie alumni got out on the dance floor for the fight song…as you can see from the big group picture below, there were a lot of Aggies in attendance!

Special thanks to Dallas wedding planner Kathie Seeley of Grand Events for doing a great job coordinating everything and for being so great to work with. I have had the pleasure of working with Kathie several times and I know everything will run very smoothly when Kathie has planned the wedding.

I would also like to extend a special thanks to Dallas wedding photographer Carter Rose of F8 Studio. He was also great to work with and was kind enough to provide the pictures below.

Dallas Wedding at Maple Manor Hotel

Not only were Brendan & Erica amazing, but they picked a great venue and very talented photographers. This was my first time working at Maple Manor. The venue has a unique layout, with an outdoor courtyard for ceremonies, indoor atrium for dancing, and a dining room for dinner. However, everything flows great and the event coordinator, Monique, is one of the best venue coordinators I have ever worked with.

It was also my first time working with Life as Art. Jeremy & Amber are the husband and wife team who make up LAA and not only are they great to work with, but they are extremely talented.

Brendan & Erica put together a great request list, that included a lot of their favorites to be played during the dinner & cocktail hour as well as a lot of great dancing songs for later in the evening. I really enjoyed their selections and still use some of their songs, such as Sea of Love, by Cat Power.
